I've been to maybe 2-3 handful of clubs or raves, my ears would ring but it would usually stop and I'd be able to enjoy peace and quiet whenever I wanted.

Then one day, about a week before posting this I woke up with this prominent ringing in my right ear. I hadn't been to a rave or club in quit some time. I thought it might have been my allergies.

I made an appointment to an ENT but couldn't wait a whole week to see the doctor so I went to an urgent care center, the doctor said I had Otitis Media with Effusion.

Then I went to the ENT, took a hearing test, hearing was normal and the doctor said there's no fluid in my ears and I just have tinnitus now, gave me no next steps and sent me on my way.

Now I'm hearing seeing how I can cope with this ringing sound and if I can live a normal life. I feel like this is something that effects older people. I'm only 27, why am I being effected so early in life? And with no hearing loss?

      Hello,
Welcome to the forum. I am sorry to hear that you have Tinnitus, it is truly a terrible thing to live with. I am also 27 and I am also wondering why me as I am too young for this. I had tinnitus for a few weeks now and it is awful. I am glad to hear that you have normal hearing. You are very new to this and thus there exists a high probability that it will go away.

Statistically it has been proven that for most people it goes away or at the very least greatly diminishes. Just be careful going forward and realize your ears are severely compromised now. There are other causes for tinnitus including ototoxic medications and stress too. So it does not just have to come from music.

I agree! now that our ears are damaged we need to take care of them religiously. I am never going to listen to music using earphones, go to concerts ,festivals, or cinema. It is too risky even with earplugs to go to these events.

Keep us updated..there is a chance that it will go away or diminish in volume.

I'm not sure if my loud headphone music caused my tinnitus or stress.

I broke up with my live in GF of 4 years in June and the break up is still effecting me. I broke up with my rebound so now I don't really have anyone to hang out with, I'm far from my family, etc. I'm in software and it's a pretty stressful point for me right now with my project getting released to the public.

I've started taking B Vitamins and Magnesium. Going to start taking Ginko today as well.

I think it might be a combination of the two. My T was caused by loud headphone music and a festival where I sat next to a speaker.

My gut tells me that yours was also caused by loud music (clubs ,raves, loud headphones) and exacerbated by stress.

Yeah I saw that and I'm hoping I get to be one of the lucky ones, but I'm still going to try and adjust to this new sound as if it's permanent. My T today is pretty low but I hear that's how it works, you have good days and bad days.

I'm currently taking Zinc, Magnesium, Ginkgo, and an Assortment of B vitamins.
I stopped drinking caffeine, drinking alcohol and smoking the green.
I stopped taking in excess salt and fats.
I'm wearing ear protection when I go out now.
When I hear it I say my calming mantra to remind myself to chill out.

      I'm going hard.
