Maybe it's the noise in the gym? Is it loud there?

I have heard that exercise/working out can cause T spikes for some people, but they're usually temporary.

At first it did not bother me too much. Slowly exercising gave me big spikes.

this is a great way to describe how i feel right now.. major inflammation in the head. I don’t think you can connect it to the gym though unless there was loud music there or something. I have gone to the gym almost every day for 3 years, i lost 100 lbs. i have had long stretches where my head feels painless. Not right now though. i don’t believe gym is a factor. it is a constant for me.

Does anyone have a rumble in their ear when you touch your cheek bone? I'm wondering if it's inflammation or nerve damage? No TTTS

Believe it or not I can modulate my tinnitus a lot by pressing my jaw, by applying slight pressure on the right side of my head, clenching my teeth just a little, or bending my neck. If I push my ears in with the pal, of my hand sounds like a car tire deflating. Man I am fed up.

Wonder how they did those tests for TTTS @BellaMia Ive had long bouts of this several times, but eventually they always resolve after a period of time once I manage to get my stress levels/anxiety back down again. TTTS is not necessarily caused by stress, but to me (and many others) its driven by anxiety/negative stress.

@BellaMia It does not come and go. it is always there. I have not been diagnosed with anything. Doctor could not figure it out. My audiogram is basically normal.

agree with @MindOverMatter about ttts though. i have also had multiple bouts that have resolved but i can always make my ear rumble by touching my neck.

My son is 42 and on his second failing marriage because he didn't teach his wife's how to treat him early in their marriage; he has no spine against their constant bitching. Setting limits and demanding respect eludes him. I'm sure another woman will pick him when his 2nd divorce is finalized; another woman looking for 'a man with a paycheck'.

@RunningMan I haven't used it yet. I just tried it out the 1st day I got it and it's pretty cool. I should test it out at night. It seems a lot of my stress from this condition comes from the middle of the night and early morning when waking. I just don't have the tolerance for the noise at those hours.

It isn't the actual alcohol that spikes T , what spikes the T is the higher blood pressure that is caused by drinking . People who frequently drink will have higher blood pressure than people who seldomly drink or don't drink at all

I’ve had very mild t for 15 years.

I got covid in 2021 and two weeks after testing positive I got all new noises and reactivity and it’s been a roller coaster since then with it.

I’m slowly getting better at dealing with it emotionally.

Today started the same, but I took Ativan before noon, and my tinnitus turned into a hiss in another hour or so. So, I'm doing ok now, but the squealing single tone always returns in 1 to 3 days, and it has seemed more intense lately. Hopefully we both see better days.

Unlikely Ativan. I only took 3 low dose 0.5mg over 2 weeks. Half potency and much shorter half life compared to Clonazepam. I don't know if it helped with softening it to a hiss when I took it yesterday, either, because it cycles between those sounds regularly. The hiss continues today which is easier to deal with.

@MindOverMatter Thank you. I hope to be as successful as possible. I'm scared though. I have to pay for a house that's needs 2 incomes all alone now. I'm terrified. I hope I'll make enough money. My poor mother may have to help. I can't believe this is my reality.

The feeling of having your heart ripped out & a life you loved ripped from you hurts so bad. The emptiness is louder then the T.

Who here is a single parent w/Tinnitus? Or just doing this w/o a spouse? My husband was my biggest support system and now I'm alone. Advice?

Im doing this solo, its very hard at times. I remember my ex partner telling me before we broke up that ''I can't support you in the way you need to be supported'' and i remember thinking that support only really needs to be a hug or a positive sentence. Im sorry your doing this solo.

@Stayinghopeful That's horrible! I can't believe someone would do that. My husband made a bad choice that couldn't be taken back or forgiven. So here I am alone too trying to comfort myself. It isn't the same though. What hell this condition is.

I’m sorry to hear that, I really am. The best we can do is try be kind to ourselves and try focus on hobbies and other things that interest us while we wait for time to heal the heart.

I'm so sorry. It's daunting enough without Tinnitus. A few years ago my engagement ended abruptly. We weren't married yet, but raised a child together and had finances and everything wrapped up together. It's hard but you can do this.

Do you have family or friends to lean on through this?

Don't make any arrangements until you speak with a lawyer. In the meantime, your spouse should stay with family or something if they are at fault for the divorce, and you two should make a written agreement on a child custody schedule if you have kids.

@kingsfan My daughter was his step daughter. So we have no children in common. He most definitely was at fault. I have to talk to him today about who goes here and who can afford what.

Hello I developed T in March of 2023. I was hospitalized and was given an anti anxiety drug called Busphar. I took a quarter of the lowest dose for 3 weeks and that's all it took to turn my life upside down.

My hearing and ear structure are perfectly fine but something got screwed up along the way. I'm a Cardiovascular Technologist and also a Neurodiagnostic Tech at a small hospital and try my best to manage each day. Some days are harder then others but here we are. Sorry to meet you under these circumstances. ❤️
