    Please Help... Night from Hell

Try not listenining the T so much. The more you focus on it the louder it "seems", as your brain is constantly fixated on the sound. Go back to work as well, when you're distacted the brain just doesn't pay attention to silly things. You will habituate faster if you accept your condition may...

Can't Sleep, Thinking About Suicide, No One Seems to Care

In Need of Support/Wisdom. New Tinnitus Sufferer.

This might sound banal but when you really get down in the dumps I would suggest going for some exercise. When im really down I find it really picks me right back up, and even though I can still here the ringing in my ear it seems to downgrade the T to a minor nuisance rather than some life...

New to Tinnitus — Have Some Questions

Im aware that prednisone provides mixed results, but obviously I would be keen to try this and suffer any short term ill effects on the basis it may alleviate my T permanently. Im also keen to pursue the lidocaine route as this also apparently can work in the early stages, but not sure if...

New to Tinnitus — Have Some Questions

Does anybody have suggestions for early evidence based intervention for tinnitus? Should I be badgering my GP for a round of prednisone? Is it true that hyperbaric oxygen therapy should be undergone in the early stages? Anything else I should be considering?

New to Tinnitus — Have Some Questions

Saw a GP yesterday and she referred me for a hearing test. I realise my T appears to be in the high frequency range, around 12- 13khz. I suspect I have high frequency hearing loss as I cant hear above 14khz. Its not very loud but at that frequency it can be heard above just about everything...

New to Tinnitus — Have Some Questions

Hello I've recently been waking up with a ringing in my ear and believe this is probably tinnitus. I’ve been experiencing frequent episodes of transient spontaneous tinnitus for the past 6-12 months (once to twice per day) and now it seems to have taken on a permanent effect. The ringing is...
