I ended up with tinnitus when I was 32. I had gotten sick, ended up in the hospital on life support and in a coma for 2 months. I quit breathing a few times, I was told that it, or the meds they had to pump into me caused the tinnitus. I had specialists from around the country, but no one could figure out what caused the illness to begin with. I was not suppose to survive, brain damage at the very least if I did. But the tinnitus was the only side effect. My hearing can be bad, I have lost tone. I hear some people, but I cannot understand many more. I have tried the masking tracks, but the noise physically hurts. I do not go out much, haven't in yrs because of it.
