Now in a Better Place — Tinnitus and Ear Fullness from Acoustic Trauma (Headphones)

The quality of the iLoud Micros are really good considering the price and weight and you can buy a carry bag, plus they have bluetooth connectivity. When I am in a quiet place I sometimes play some masking noise or music just to have some relieve. I initially bought the wrong one... an iLoud...

Now in a Better Place — Tinnitus and Ear Fullness from Acoustic Trauma (Headphones)

I don't do studio session recordings as much now so I don't need to be on headphones for extended periods. However I do location recordings and have since bought a pair of iLoud Micro for monitoring, and occasional headphones for 10-20 seconds to check for balance. Initially for the first month...

Now in a Better Place — Tinnitus and Ear Fullness from Acoustic Trauma (Headphones)

Hey Sev, Happy to hear you are doing well now. My tinnitus hasn’t got better yet but I can say I’ve turned a corner and accepted tinnitus as it is. I realize I need to get out of my anxiety and panic mode but am still careful with my ears. Since Georg is also a musician, I would like to chime...

I Invented a Sound That Knocked Out My Tinnitus

I downloaded the file and find that 2/3 and 3/3 of the file is generally louder than 1/3. Listening to it might get a little painful if I set the volume correctly in the first 1/3 of the file. I edited and adjusted the volume so it is more even across the whole audio file. @R. David Case, do...

First Post — Jazz Drummer with Tinnitus and Hyperacusis

Hi @Jazz drummer, I'm a professional bassplayer and engineer for over 25 years as well and I'm 12 weeks since onset. It was from an audio feedback loop I had in my studio for 3-4 seconds. I totally understand how you are feeling and I went into depression for a while, at least for the first...

Noise-Induced Tinnitus from a Wood Workshop

@Stacken77, mine was noise induced, but past the 2 month mark, I realized I can increase it by clenching my teeth or flexing my neck. Guess the brain started to do its own thing even though it wasn't supposed to be somatic.

Tinnitus from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) After Falling Down the Stairs

@Warrior959, it is great you are not checking groups as much as before. This just means you are moving on with life. I am on my way to get there... a slow process but I believe I will get there. Happy for you!

Tinnitus and Mild Hyperacusis After 3-4 Seconds Loud Noise Exposure (Accidental Audio Feedback)

Hi @Juan, no I didn’t experience any other symptoms other than sitting in my room 2 days after the feedback that I realised there is a slight ringing in my right ear, and a barely audible higher frequency hiss in my left. @PolarSun, I understand you better now. So yes, I’ve switched to a fan...

Tinnitus and Mild Hyperacusis After 3-4 Seconds Loud Noise Exposure (Accidental Audio Feedback)

Thanks @PolarSun for sharing your thoughts. I think part of my hyperacusis is also psychologically associated with the post acoustic trauma. I am getting a bit better at not being startled with plates, etc. With regards to treating hyperacusis with sound machines, I have started using a low...

Tinnitus and Mild Hyperacusis After 3-4 Seconds Loud Noise Exposure (Accidental Audio Feedback)

Hi @Kevin Hallowell. It was a very basic introductory meeting. Letting him know what were my causes, emotional state and toolbox at this point. And me asking questions about what might work for me, etc. Quite different from when I saw another two audiologist who made me answer formal...

On My Way to Recovery from Tinnitus and Hyperacusis

Thanks for the update. If you only hear your tinnitus in a quiet bathroom, that’s a victory! Both in habituation and actual lowered volume. Mine recently (a week ago) went from left ear to right ear and stayed there. So it’s kinda in the middle of my head. I have slowly grown to accept it...

    Sound Machines and Tinnitus

@Michael Leigh, do you have any experience with using bone conduction headphones for this purpose on a day to day basis? I changed my noise machine to a low frequency white noise and it seems to not spike my high frequency tinnitus as much when I wake. This does mean that I do sleep with...

    Sound Machines and Tinnitus

@Michael Leigh, I'm on my 8-9 week of a loud noise exposure (high pitch left, middle and lower octave right) and have been using masking all along since the 2nd week. At first on Spotify rain and wave sounds. They were on rather high during the first week. Then on Dreamegg rain and thunder...
