I rarely hear a high pitched bell-type ringing. What I hate is the insect sound--on and off--cicadas in my ears.

My tinnitus is has really gotten loud when I awake. It is hard when other family members tell you to just get over it.

I took klonopin for a bunch of years because I couldn't sleep. Then I realized how it was affecting my memory. In the last year of taking it I got a small amount of tinnitus. Later I gradually got off of benzos. My memory is better but my tinnitus has gotten much worse.
