Hi all! My name's Nicole, I'm a 21 year old Social Work Major at Stockton College. I've been living with tinnitus for a while, though the first time I realized it was actually my ears ringing was January of 2012. It's constant. I can't sleep in total silence, otherwise the ringing drives me batty. I've tried ring relief, and it only seems to amplify the sound. Hearing issues run in my family (hearing loss runs rampant on my mother's side) and my mom remembers her own tinnitus when she was younger, though I'm not sure if it still plagues her as it does me as she is almost completely Deaf. I have been trying to look into a tinnitus canceler, which my ENT described as a hearing aid almost, that would help cancel the noise out. I've also been dragging my feet about getting a hearing test. I'm kind of afraid of what it'll say, being that hearing loss is so prominent in my family.
