- I have a dear friend who has suffered tremendously from Tinnitus. Tinnitus expert Dr. Hogan and I have written a book titled Shattered, which is fictionalized accounting of her journey being released on October 23rd, the anniversary date of the car accident where she was hit head-on by a drunk driver. She lost everything in that one moment...her husband died; she basically broke every bone in her body from her neck down, and she suffered severe brain trauma, with 3 basal skull fractures and subdural hemotoma. She spent 7 months hospitalized and 3 years with round the clock nursing care. We believe her Tinnitus came out of the brain injury.
