I have had tinnitus for 8 yrs. My doc put me on Ativan at night so I can sleep. I am currently trialing a "zen" program, ie hearing aids that deliver random chimes, water sounds plus amplification in any combination that I wear for at least 4 hrs daily. White noise at night. I can still hear the ringing over and above the chimes, etc.
