New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

Just keep your expectations low. We all want to hear something positive at last, but unfortunately, with the pace Auricle has shown so far, I don’t believe anything truly spectacular will come out of this Q&A.

Prototype Device for Electrical and Magnetic Stimulation of the Ear in the Treatment of Tinnitus

I love how these treatments appear with seemingly great results, yet we never hear about them again.

I was hopeful about AI too, but I realized that even if it comes up with a solution, it will still need to be tested with trials and other processes. Which makes anything at least 10-20 years away...

This kind of episodes troubles me as well. Sudden pressure, loud (different than my usual) tinnitus and sometimes changes in hearing (temporary, lasting around 1 hour). The description fits hydrops, but everytime I saw a doctor they found no other signs of hydrops. So they told me it might be...

Elon Musk’s Neuralink Looking to Treat Tinnitus

It seems that more people have received Neuralink. I don't think we know anything about it doing something for hearing disorders, but let's hope it will.

Pregnant & Scared with Reactive Tinnitus — Your Help Requested

I don’t think it helps much, and sorry to say, but sound therapy or sound exposure is not a proven treatment for reactive tinnitus or hyperacusis. Not even researchers have confirmed this, and Treble Health, in my opinion, is a scam. If it truly helped, there wouldn’t be so many members here who...

You really need to get Prednisone for some days (60 mg/day or so at least + taper) ASAP. Also, any vasodialators, Betahistine, antivirals, possibly NAC that you can find.

Episode 20: The Man Who Donated a Million Dollars to Tinnitus Research

Funny how, while our empathy for others increases with tinnitus, their empathy for us actually DECREASES. They often think we’re making a fool of them when we talk about the invisible things that are happening to us.

Positive Story: Tinnitus, Hyperacusis, and Dysacusis

Lol, another incompetent ENT pulling a random story out of his head, trying to look like he knows something. Research keeps discovering new cell types in the cochlea, and tinnitus and dysacusis still can’t be fully explained. But no, this guy’s apparently a genius who already has it all figured...

AdventHealth Research Institute Offers Phase II Clinical Trial of Etanercept for Treatment of Blast-Induced Tinnitus

Probably because the actual drug is an anti-inflammatory and is already used for some diseases. I’m guessing it’s similar to trialing Prednisone or something like that, and probably not worth the hassle.

Hidden Hearing Loss, Ear Fullness/Pressure, Hyperacusis, and Tinnitus After Second Acoustic Trauma

About Betahistine and Lysine, they are low-risk options that you can try without a doctor’s advice, honestly. I do see the drop at low frequencies, which is suspicious. I don’t think I can help much though, since audiograms can be inconsistent and don’t show the bigger picture. It does sound...

AdventHealth Research Institute Offers Phase II Clinical Trial of Etanercept for Treatment of Blast-Induced Tinnitus

All good points, but the big organizations and government departments already believe tinnitus is not a pressing issue, and this has been the case for years.

Such a great day, I've had 5 SBUTT's in the same ear so far today. I don't know if I should worry that something bad is happening.

How to Cope with Tinnitus After High-Frequency Hearing Loss?

That sounds a bit like MEM spasms of the stapedius muscle. I have not experienced that much myself, but people who have describe high-pitched sparks or a rattlesnake-like sound when the stapedius spasms or flutters. I have the type of MEM that causes a low, muted thumping, probably from the...
