I've Had Mild Tinnitus — For the Last Week It Has Been REALLY Bad, and My Ear Has Been in Pain

It’s interesting, I also have tinnitus that is so loud I can “feel” it. It feels as though my ear is hearing a real noise and the muscles are reacting as such. There is also a sort of palpable sensation of the noise, which is very high pitched. I’ve seen this very seldom described. Would you...

Are There Any Success Stories for Moderate-Severe Dysacusis?

I also have had this for 6 weeks. I believe @Michael Leigh and @Tom Cnyc both had distortion that went away based on my reading, although I may be wrong.

Hyperacusis / Reactive Tinnitus / Hearing Distortion

I’m very sorry to hear that. Unfortunately for me my distortion has not budged an inch. I think for me however the tinnitus is the bigger issue - I believe it is truly severe given what I’ve read here. I will keep reporting. Stay strong!

Steroids: Prednisone / Dexamethasone / Others (Oral and Intratympanic Injections)

Curcumin and Omega 3 are the most powerful natural anti-inflammatories I can think of, though I imagine their efficacy is lower than a pharmaceutical.

PSA: Electroacupuncture — Be Aware of the Risk of Tinnitus Getting Worse, Permanently

I have tinnitus and hyperacusis in both ears, though tinnitus is worse in the right and hyperacusis is worse in the left. It has since come down, but not sure if it came down to the level of near-silence I was experiencing before I got the acupuncture. It did not induce any new tones...

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) for Tinnitus — Long-Lasting Everyday Home-Practiced Experiences

So just read through this thread - net takeaway is most people did not benefit and the ones that did benefit over a timescale that it would be impossible to dis-aggregate their improvement from natural healing/fading. Anything I’m missing?

Botox 70% Success Rate as a Tinnitus Treatment!?

Might give this a shot. I also fiend my teeth because of tinnitus.

I haven’t finished the first 30 serving bottle yet. Since my acoustic trauma 36 days ago I have had some quieter days but then immediately back to intrusive tinnitus. I think to give any supplement a fair shake you need 2-3 months. I’ll update at that point.

PSA: Electroacupuncture — Be Aware of the Risk of Tinnitus Getting Worse, Permanently

Today I went for electroacupuncture. My tinnitus today was the lowest it had been since the outset. I was honestly relieved and even told the acupuncturist how it had dropped in the last 24 hours - I had completely lost a tone. After a brief session, I left her office and it is now at such a...

What Are Your Biggest Achievements Despite Tinnitus?

Just 5-10 more years and for those with ear/nerve damage we can reasonably expect some reduction or abatement, based on the therapies in pipeline. I'm proud to still be holding down a full time job and turning in high quality deliverables.

Reactive Tinnitus and Ear Pain Getting Worse: Almost a Year In and Things Aren't Better

My opinion is that nutritional protection needs to come hand in hand with acoustic protection - in the same way that you are avoiding loud noises, I would ensure you continue to supplement chelated magnesium, ginkgo, and a good multivitamin, perhaps indefinitely. I would also consider...

Has Anyone Had Complete Resolution of Tinnitus Lasting Over 2 Weeks (Due to Acoustic Trauma?

I’m seeking some support from folks that have currently or have had this type of tinnitus. It is ultra shrill - so much so that sometimes I can barely perceive it - I think it is the highest frequency it could possibly be while still being perceptible. Despite that the volume or signal is quite...

How to Deal with Conference Calls? Quality Sounds Like My Ears Are Being Stabbed

For as long as I can remember speaking on cellphones when the signal is particularly garbage has hurt my ears, as does using bad quality laptop speakers, or tiny bluetooth speakers. I've always just thought to myself, bad quality speakers are cheap so of course they hurt your ears, but now I...

How to Deal with Conference Calls? Quality Sounds Like My Ears Are Being Stabbed

@MindOverMatter Does anyone know why electronic type noise sounds so grating from small speakers? Everything you say about having the sound out in the room from good speakers resonate with me, but I wish I knew WHY on a scientific basis. Before my hyperacusis became more severe I just thought...
