2007 developed pneumonia. Since then have had twice yearly bouts of chest infections treated with antibiotics.
2015 developed constant cough thought was linked to no meds. Drs kept saying no.
March 2017 while on holiday developed severe sinus pain, ear pain, throat tightness. Developed pressure in ears and then low hum like a refrigerator running. Given erythromycin (allergic to penicillin) for 4 weeks. Humming in ear sent me into panic attacks. Was prescribed diazepam to help calm me.
Paid for private dr who discovered Ramipril could cause Tinnitus. Switched me to Candesartan.
MRI done. Showed nothing wrong with me. Coughing cleared up for a month. Now back. Tinnitus still there but has switched to a high squeal pretty much audible if my ear is covered: i.e. Sleeping with that side of my head on pillow.
Dr now ordering ct of sinuses, allergy tests, and hearing test as have heating reduced in opposite ear of tinnitus.
