Struggling with Impacted Earwax, Tinnitus, and Hyperacusis: Seeking a Safe Removal Option

I have severe tinnitus with multiple tones. However, I do home irrigation once a month without any issues. My tinnitus is slightly elevated after using it, but only for a minute or so.

Am I the Unluckiest Person on Earth When It Comes to Tinnitus? My 6-Year Tinnitus Nightmare: How One Festival Changed My Life

An anecdote to this: A few years back, I woke up from what I can only assume was deep sleep. And for a moment, it was completely silent. Nothing. But before I could even mutter the words “what the hell,” the volume came back on. I find it interesting because it suggests there might be a stage...

Am I the Unluckiest Person on Earth When It Comes to Tinnitus? My 6-Year Tinnitus Nightmare: How One Festival Changed My Life

While in general I don’t think medication for sleep itself works well, I do believe that medication can lower anxiety and reduce the perception of tinnitus. This makes it easier to fall asleep and cope with it.

Am I the Unluckiest Person on Earth When It Comes to Tinnitus? My 6-Year Tinnitus Nightmare: How One Festival Changed My Life

I mean, I try my best, but I’m struggling during the day and slowly losing my mind. I’m kind of amazed that I sleep so well without any medication. It must be the exhaustion.

Am I the Unluckiest Person on Earth When It Comes to Tinnitus? My 6-Year Tinnitus Nightmare: How One Festival Changed My Life

@Kam75, may I ask how you find Quetiapine? I’m looking for something to help calm me a bit during the day.

Severe Burnout, Worsened Tinnitus, and Hyperacusis: Struggling to Break the Cycle

Something I’ve always wondered is if there’s a limit to how loud tinnitus can get. My volume keeps increasing every week, and every time I think, it can’t get any louder… can it?, it does. Right now, I’d say the volume is at a level that would be severely damaging if it were coming from an...

Severe Burnout, Worsened Tinnitus, and Hyperacusis: Struggling to Break the Cycle

Yeah, I actually don’t have much trouble sleeping when I’m not overstimulated. Exhaustion knocks me out. For me, it’s more like I’ve reached a point of such extreme exhaustion that it causes tinnitus. I guess it damages my ears. I think I read somewhere that glutamate or glutamine—can’t remember...

Am I the Unluckiest Person on Earth When It Comes to Tinnitus? My 6-Year Tinnitus Nightmare: How One Festival Changed My Life

@Kam75, I just want to mention that higher dosages of Mirtazapine are usually more stimulating than lower dosages because of the noradrenaline effect. 15 mg should be fine, but you could try 7.5 mg instead.

Severe Burnout, Worsened Tinnitus, and Hyperacusis: Struggling to Break the Cycle

Tinnitus is getting louder and louder every day. Every time I think it cannot become any louder, it does. It is crazy that the mind can create this on its own. Still, I am certain that my burnout, exhaustion, and anxiety cause the same type of damage to the ear as noise exposure. Multiple...

    Low Frequency Tinnitus

One sounds like very low church bells, and the other is a low, constant hum. They are reactive to a certain degree. The high-pitched sound is less reactive.

Severe Burnout, Worsened Tinnitus, and Hyperacusis: Struggling to Break the Cycle

I will not bore everyone with my whole story, because it is long. Either way, I got some medium and low sounds from stopping benzodiazepines during a burnout six years ago. At the same time, I developed a high-pitched sound after starting Mirtazapine. I do not think Mirtazapine itself was the...
