Have had trouble with tinnitus since 1986. Had major surgery when I was 17, and no longer have eardrum and middle bones in left ear, so it's open all the way to the cochlea. The doctor said that made the nerves on my cochlea subject to damage, which is causing the tinnitus. Used a hearing aid for awhile back in the 80's and it seemed to help. But then I started wearing glasses and the "behind the ear" hearing aid was irritating the cartilage on my ear and so I stopped using it and just decided I would live with it. Oh well.....Now I have been wondering if there is another way, or should I try a hearing aid again. (?)
