    Really Struggling :(

Ryan: sorry to hear that - I'm on year four or so myself. Wrt sleeping, taking melatonin really helped (studies support this too btw) me, but regularity is key; it needs (for me, at least) to be taken every night. Depending upon your type of Tinnitus you may be a candidate for notch therapy or...

Notched Music Therapy (DIY, AudioNotch, etc.)

Hi Everyone: quick question. I'm considering adding a feature to http://www.notchtherapy.com that would add built in notching, right in your browser. It would be totally free, in the spirit of the DIY content there. The flow would be: 1) Find your frequency (with our frequency finder) 2) Listen...

    Dizzy All Day!

I had a friend at work struggle with fits of sever dizziness - months went by with multiple doctors with wrong / incorrect diagnoses. One finally checked her out and immediately identified an inner ear infection. She went on meds, and the dizziness went away... Definitely something to check on...

    Tinnitus Masking: In-Ear Maskers

I just wrote a small site that has free online white, pink and brown (my favorite) noise that you can listen to. I hope you like it...there's really no need to pay for these things, it's pretty easy to do on your own. Now it's even easier :) Note: you'll need a modern browser like Firefox...

Notched Music Therapy (DIY, AudioNotch, etc.)

I've had great luck with this therapy - my frequency is at 7800Hz. I've also had some folks with results up >8000 so I'd say try the therapy. A couple of notes: 1) Don't use music. The research that found white noise to be more effective makes sense intuitively (I'm no doctor, but it does make...

DIY Sound Therapy — Need Some Advice

Good information here above. I've got some perspective on the DIY therapy, white noise, etc. - note that I'm focusing on "notching" the white noise, which is different than other audio therapies out there but has a favorable foundation of research and worked for me personally in a life-altering...

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: Do It Yourself Guide

Tanks for pointing out the plugin is missing in Audacity. I've updated the instructions (on notch therapy's site) with a pointer to the band stop filter. Also note that the notch filter will work as well. Another alternative - much more technical though - is to use Sox, a Unix / Linux utility...
