I lost my Mom before I got tinnitus but lost my Dad after I had it or during. He was in a home and I couldn't really explain what happened to me. It's all depressing.

I wear earplugs for those situations. But, occasionally, I don't have them in and there's someone using a leaf blower, lawn mower etc. It sucks and often results in a spike. An ongoing spike is awful. I am inclined to think the 'spike' is temporary but everyone's ears is different so...
