I got my first night of good sleep in two months last night and woke up to the lowest (almost non-existent) tinnitus I've had in over a year.
How do you know that it's safe?

I agree there is a major psychological factor we don't understand. Many people told me they've had it since childhood and it never bothered them...
I thought vibrating the tiny bones in your ear could worsen tinnitus and hearing loss?
