A baseball injury broke my skull and killed the nerve in my right ear at age 9. Have had loud ringing ever since. 44 years.
Now I have tinnitus in my "good" left ear, most likely from my 30 years of foundry work. I've always used excellent hearing protection but this has me scared.
I have no idea what it is to experience quiet and would love to know what it sounds like.
You can let tinnitus drive you crazy if you sit and dwell on it but you just have to ignore it the best you can and live life.
