Seven Months with Sound-Induced Tinnitus: Is Anyone Seeing Improvements or Finding Hope?

No improvement. It is quite consistent as well as constant. The doctors say there is no remedy for tinnitus. My hearing is still pretty good, though, even with some age-related high-frequency loss.

Seven Months with Sound-Induced Tinnitus: Is Anyone Seeing Improvements or Finding Hope?

I was at a rock concert in a front-left seat. The giant, school-bus-sized speakers, meant to send sound all the way to the back lawn seats, were not far from my left side. The long-forgotten opening band played their set at a nice, reasonable level. But the very first note the Allman Brothers...

Seven Months with Sound-Induced Tinnitus: Is Anyone Seeing Improvements or Finding Hope?

I have had 28 years of nonstop high-pitched ringing. There is no hope. All I can do is ignore it as best I can. I hope you have better luck than I did.

Struggling with Tinnitus, Anxiety: Frightened to Try Antidepressants

Welcome to the forum. I am not qualified to give you medical advice, but I can share what has helped me. I take 1 mg of Lorazepam before bed and at other times as needed. This is an anti-anxiety medication, which sounds more like what you might need rather than an antidepressant. 1 mg is the...

Ativan (Lorazepam) Is Saving Me Right Now (It Makes My Tinnitus 80-90% Better), and Tapering It Scares Me

My tinnitus is unaffected by sleep. It is constant—no great days or spike days, regardless of how much sleep I get. It is just always there. I am a lifelong insomniac, but I do occasionally have nights of good sleep.

You could ask the audiologist to re-test your hearing and adjust the settings on the Lenire accordingly. Considering the cost of the device, it’s probably...

No Hearing Damage, No Loud Noise Exposure — My Tinnitus Started Out of the Blue

@ChrisPK, are you currently taking any medications that might be ototoxic? That could explain the “out of nowhere” onset. If you’re unsure, feel free to list your medications—if that’s not too personal—and someone might be able to suggest a possible cause.
