Only in profound/severe hearing loss that qualifies for an implant. I'd imagine it would make tinnitus worse if someone with mild/moderate hearing loss got a CI

Tinnitus and loudness discomfort hyperacusis is the result of the brain increasing neuronal activity and acting as a hearing amplifier to compensate for hearing loss. One would assume reversing hearing damage would lessen tinnitus caused by SNHL.
