I never made music (I played acoustic guitar for a while in my early teens but had to give up due to joint issues) but it's always been my life - I'd listen for hours a day, 90% through speakers on a low level. Devastating thing to lose, feels like my soul is literally gone.

@ASilverLight Sorry to hear that. I totally understand. Music was everything for me. I was in bands and was a guitarist/songwriter. I would play and write every day for hours. Hundreds of songs. Hopefully regenerative medicine will allow us to be ourselves again.

I believe it will, at least for the most part. I can genuinely live with no silence again, I just want it to settle to a low, silent-room-only type. Right now, unfortunately, it's often intrusive despite not being loud, but I think that's more on the way I deal with input than anything else.

@ASilverLight I’m fine with a low level, but mine is so loud right now. The baseline fluctuates day to day, but the worst part for me is my reactivity. It reacts to everything and prevents me from doing anything. If the reactivity went down, I think I could tolerate just the baseline. My life is on hold at the moment. I can’t wait for FX-322 and other regenerative medicine to help our community.

Same. I have no clue what caused my tinnitus as lots of things were going on at the onset of T. I could absolutely tolerate my baseline, but it's the fluctuations and the fact mine gets so intrusive that does me in.

@Emgee yes it is, but both sides have completely different noises. I don't really have a pure tone that stays (I get one or two from time to time) but most of my noises seem to waver/play on a loop, almost. Very, very strange.

@ASilverLight Nothing regarding T surprises me anymore. I also have different noises in each year. However, only my right ear is reactive. That’s my main issue as it’s truly debilitating.
