Focusing/paying attention to your VS will make it appear worse, just like with tinnitus. I'm 99 percent habituated to my VS but it's pretty mild.

And to answer your question, I had VS years before tinnitus and it did not change at all when I got tinnitus. But because of my tinnitus I had anxiety over my VS whereas before I wasn't really bothered by it.
