There's always possibilities for acceptance, habituation, sleeping, and even better outcomes such as cures and recovery. The problem is getting your distressed brain to realize that. I would certainly love to do this myself, but it's just a game of hoping for the best. The feeling of powerlessness is incredibly debilitating on top of everything else.
