Hissing is waaay better. Mine can switch between a ring and a hiss. I love the hissing.

I would say its the same volume as the ring which goes up and down. For me when I had (or get) tonal flickering ringing it was maddening and all the time just distracting. Obviously I don't like the hiss sound but I find my mind is prob 90% less drawn to it that the ringing. I have found the ringing has turned into a hiss almost with 10% of tone in it somewhere.

Yes, hissing is orders of magnitude easier to bear than ringing. It means you haven't hurt your ears as much as many others on this forum. Within a year or two your T ought to fade.

Hissing or airplane engine noise to me sounds much better than the ringing. When I go days with the ringing, I become irritable.
