Yeah it's a nightmare. I have a job interview Thurs for a home-based customer service role. Will have to use a headset in my least bad ear should i get it..
@Charburchar I would strongly advise that you don’t. Isn’t there any other job you can apply for, like working in a garden centre for instance? They’re always quiet. My sister has worked in a couple.
@Steph1710 Don't have much choice really. I'm going to go for it and if it's too troublesome I'll just have to quit. I speak to friends/family often on the phone and its never been much of an issue
Fingers crossed, @Charburchar! Quite a couple of friends asked me about my tinnitus when they started to get a ringing in their ears after Corona forced them to do a lot of zoom interviews / conferences. But I guess, you'll be far quicker to react / take precautions since you're already dealing with tinnitus.
Apologies @Leila I've only just seen your comment! On reflection I've decided I'm probs not going to take the job if I get offer -not worth risk. That's really surprising re your friends getting tinnitus from zoom calls, but I guess the audio can be quite harsh, and at an elevated volume damage can be done!
