there’s less brain activity happening the moment you wake up, which I suppose can play a role in how one is perceiving tinnitus in those first 15+ mins of waking up.

@Ryan Scott Mine is super quiet in the morning, it's only 3 here and it's still pretty tolerable right now. I do think high activity and caffeine make it louder.

@ZFire I think its the subconscious firing of neurons that start I guess as the brain is waking up. It's so weird how this hyperactivity in the auditory cortex goes in an alert state and never heals itself.

Mine is quiet too, but the only problem is my brain automatically looks for it asoon as I wake up. Its always on high alert for it. @Ryan Scott

Mine is quieter when I first wake up but I wish I got a whole 15 minutes of quiet! Mine usually ramps up within a couple minutes

I know this too … When I woke up in the middle of the night it could be that there is no Tinnitus … when I wake up it s quiet but then increasing … I agree with @ZFire

Mine used to be quiet when I first woke up. Sometimes I’d even lay there and try not to move as long as I could to keep the silence, but now it’s super loud when I wake up.
