i got T at the end of my sophomore year (show that caused it was literally right after finals) and went back in the fall. T worsened beginning of my second year of med school 5 years later and kept at it. You can do it!

@yeezysqueezy That is awesome, did you finish med school and if so what in? I am considering going for CRNA. I think it may be good for me mentally from a longevity prospective.

I had mild T in 2012 when I was in college. It was very noticeable in a quiet classroom, but not enough to mess with my concentration and focus.

Not sure now how well I would fare now.

@Ryan Scott so I'm technically almost finished with my third year but two months ago took naproxen for 5 days and got really bad loudness H and noxacusis so i had to stop rotations :( i hope i can go back eventually. i was gonna work for the VA after residency and wanted to help get more funding/research for T but now stuck in silence

but you should totally do CRNA! i did surgery at the VA and the CRNA's loved it. It's a great gig. A GI doc i worked with said they have a better gig than him. if i could go back i might get nursing undergrad and then do CRNA

This is why im terrified of medicine at this point. That is awesome, I am definitely hopeful your symptoms improve soon so you can get back to it. Especially because you are so close to being finished and deserving of it!

My grandfather was a CRNA. I guess what would ultimately determine my decision is how many of my hours from my chem e degree would transfer towards nursing undergrad.

@yeezysqueezy My T started after my first year last May and I was able to go through my first horrible months during the summer break, like you. I’m just about finished my program for nursing. It’s been hard. I’m at clinical at a hospital right now, but I’ve managed. Im distracted from it right now.

@Ryan Scott Everything’s more difficult with T. Many times I said I was going to drop out, but I’ve come too far at this point I’m just trying to finish.

I finished long before getting T but for me now, I think focusing on anything distracts from it during that time. Good luck

@Ryan Scott thank you! I hope you can go back to your studies this year. If you end up working with patients, T makes you have more empathy for a lot of invisible things people are struggling with. But also a good skill for anyone!

Hope that a lot of your credits can transfer! One of my best friends recently finished an accelerated BSN and they accepted a lot of her undergrad credits. Would be so cool to follow in your grandfather's footsteps!
