Maybe we should, get jobs in the engine rooms of oil tankers? At least, we wouldn't hear this wretched noise! Actually, an old neighbor of mine, almost went completely deaf, being a Navy mechanic on a destroyer in WW2. No T at all?

I served four years as a mechanic in the engine room of a diesel submarine. That's where the damage to my hearing was done. I wear two hearing aids and have T on both sides.
