    Temporo mandibular joint.
Not sure how to explain it to you, Google it to know more.

Its a dysfunction of the jaw joint. It can be due to inflammation. For some people the jaw may lock, or pop, or trouble chewing or opening the mouth. May hear clicking, popping, or grating sound because the joint is right by the ear. Some people may grind their teeth at night because of it. Tinnitus is sometimes associated with it. In some people getting a mouth guard for sleep may help.
