Sudden noises are really hurtful but i dont like sounds being close to my ears and him hitting me on the shoulder felt like he clapped hes hands right next to my ear. I have both TT and Hyperacusis and tend to spike easily. i also get ALOT of anxiety/panic over "loudish" sounds. i often also "dwell" about the incident for days which takes alot of energy
Stressing out is of course not helping. But people forget, and they really have no clue what it is to live with T and especially H. But I understand that because it is very difficult to imagine that an ordinary voice or any other low level sound could be experienced too loud, let alone painful. Even for ENTs'!!!
We have not invited family or friends for several years now. Very occasionally one of my brothers. He is understanding and concerned about my situation. But even then the conversation with my wife quickly escalates to being too loud.
