Why do some people have tinnitus and don’t need to protect at all. It gives me false hope. Bad ideas. I will repeat this story all the time. Title guy. Bad T for years. Cuts tiles everyday with a hand grinder. Zero protection. Everyday. Lives like like there is no tomorrow.

I beg them to believe me. I am not like anyone who has T and goes to a hockey game with ear protection. I can’t imagine how loud my ears would get. When I get out of the shower … ufffff…. Worse and worse with every shower.

I wasn't doing really loud stuff. Never went to concerts, festivals or nightclubs. The few parties I attended weren't loud. I listened to music all the time, yes, but not really loud. So either no tinnitus or a little bit.

I actually learned about tinnitus 2 weeks before everything collapsed. Well it still happened: Loud music in car, I wasn't driving, I knew it was too loud, drunk, I did not say anything: R.I.P.

@4Grace yes there is definitely discomfort. On the plane, i would use the headphones and earplugs to block out plane noise, but i still play light music in the headphones which helps.

They'd be able to figure out it was you if they wanted to put effort into it. Reddit knows who you are through various methods of fingerprinting. You'd have to create and only use the account through Tor on a desktop computer and an anonymous disposable email address (if they haven't already blocked the domains).

I want to say I lean towards they do BUT have incredibly short-lived-T. 10-11ish years ago, I got T following a concert+flight. It went back to complete silence fairly quickly. I suspect this is majority. My current T is a long story and I don't know why I'm still stuck with it nearly 2 years later. Probably shit luck + a combination of everything that is bad.

When I was in junior high, my older brother had a huge system in his car. When I would sit in the back on the way home from school I would struggle to breathe from the pressure of the bass against my chest. I also spent many many hours of my life standing in front of my 8x10 bass cab at rehearsals and shows.

@4Grace Hello, I have been doing decent the last 5 weeks. I had a very bad spike from Dec 14-20 but it went away and since then i've managed pretty well.. T is still loud but mostly good days, some bad fleeting T here and there and T is very reactive to certain sounds. I have been focusing on health and working out. I ran 150K in January.
