Well, since none of us had T before we got T we of course know that not EVERYONE has T. That is just mental.

I talked to a doctor today, and I asked what they knew about T, and they told me well I have heard of it, I guess I will learn something today.

Conditions that are more visible I would think... I guess if you are an ambitious doctor you want to cure cancer, not weird ringing in heads

If only tinnitus had the same sort of recognition cancer does.

I donated to Hough too. Since then, the letters they send me asking for more have cost them more in postage than I donated in the first place.

They’ll figure something out once it’s too late for me. I figure I’ve got about 40 natural years left(if I make it that long). Would like a decade or two at the end there without this ringing. Low hopes for this.

There’s tons of conditions/diseases that never get cured. Money and attention would help. Just not a sexy enough condition even though a cure/decent treatment would be a blank check for someone.

Watching a massive concert on TV with an older crowd dancing, singing and laughing gets me the most.

In all honesty does it really matter what others have. If it effects your life it does so regardless of anybody else's tinnitus. If you have survived years with it being a constant pain in your lofe then you're not a baby

I've found it always seems to get worse, so it must be less than a 10.

I honestly think mine is the worst of this group. Hope I’m not offending anyone. I’m not referring to perception. I can’t take listening to it for more than 10 - 15 min. I have tried. Honest to God it’s bad and getting worse. Terrified. It has taken my life from me. I still have hope for a better day. Just because I have to at the least have some hope.

Oh yeah. So annoying to have to be mindful of not chewing candy... All that monitoring BS makes life much less joyful

I guess it is because alcohol increases GABA? I think a potential cure would have to involve GABA regulation.

I fell into that trap a couple years ago. Not worth it.

Alcohol is kind of similar in effect to benzos, though it acts on gaba through different pathways. You'll get that withdrawal spike if you become dependent, and it may make your T worse even without dependency.

A drink every once in a while is probably fine, but don't do it daily

Consider being able to have the odd drink when you want a blessing. One glass of anything and my T goes crazy.

Try amazon for musicians ear plugs or get some custom fitted ones?? I use Alpine 20db and 25db ones, pretty cheap but blocked out a decent amount of sound.

Most discrete are Earasers, but neither the Euro Std, Us Std, nor Max Filter passed the minimum 15dB test when I tested them. I haven't tried the Peace/Quiet filter yet, which is their strongest one.

I did that last night seeing a podcast show in London. Had my musicians ear plugs in and alls I could here was EEEEEE. It was mainly talking the odd clapping and like 2 songs but it was just EEEEE that took my attention :-/ how people double up protection and not go crazy I don't know.

You do what you gotta do.

I usually only wear during vacuuming and whew I blowdry my hair and they come out ASAP.

I have to put them on in the supermarket and on loud streets — hate it

This is the best, yet most simple, theory on T I have heard. And what complicates things further is that X,Y,Z might be individual factors for each and every one of us....

Stem cells. I don't think there is anything else to spend on, unless you want go gamble with psilocybin. The latter would be much cheaper...

@gameover i’ve been looking at stem cells but I don’t think you can justify spending that much when the most likely result is no results. I’d just be even grouchier after.
