25F New to the Club (Unfortunately): Begging for Advice and Support

Hi everyone, I am a 25-year-old woman and very new to tinnitus. It has been a little over a month since this started. I am devastated and looking for people who understand, because those around me do not. I have had two hearing tests this month, both normal. I have gone to many concerts, more...

My Pulsatile Tinnitus Seems to Worsen Every October: Anniversary Syndrome?

Hi @emmie, Your post describes me perfectly. I’ve had pulsatile tinnitus since August this year, and I’m not coping well. I’m on antidepressants and sleeping medication, but I feel sick to my stomach, can’t eat, and can’t sleep. I’m waiting for my MRI and MRA results next week. I’m praying they...

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

How is that? Doesn’t every company out there, even medical ones like the Hough Ear Institute, ask for donations? Even the University of Michigan itself keeps sending me emails asking for donations after I gave just 10 euros on the page they had for Susan Shore.

    2024 US Presidential Election

Dear @ZFire, It’s Saturday night here. I’m in bed, lying next to my wife. The boys are downstairs, gaming or doing whatever they do. We had pizza tonight—a big treat here, though not as big a treat as seeing that you’ve checked in. I’m not in the USA. I’ll leave that to you, bro. I see things...

Sudden Hearing Changes, Tinnitus, and Fear of Steroid Treatment After Past Trauma

Update 7: Since I took the steroid shot 10 days after it started, which was two days ago, I’m beginning to notice some improvement in my hearing. I can now hear my own voice normally, and the toilet flush sounds clear without any distortion. I think that’s an accomplishment.

NAC May Have Helped My Hearing Loss, Although It Definitely Gave Me High-Frequency Tinnitus

I wonder if NAC can help with severe hearing loss like mine. I had a steroid shot in my eardrum two days ago, and it was incredibly painful. I don’t want to get a cochlear implant because it’s expensive, and I don’t want to lose my natural hearing. Most people probably wouldn’t understand why I...

Sudden Hearing Changes, Tinnitus, and Fear of Steroid Treatment After Past Trauma

Interestingly, I’ve heard people say their tinnitus gets worse for days after a steroid shot, but during the injection it becomes loud only temporarily and then calms down within seconds.

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

Hah! I wish I did know that initial donor, I'll work on that... And that's awesome. I love hearing it. There's a famous movie line here in the states..."If you build it, he will come." I believe that the existence of an endowment could help secure its funding, and it also provides a convenient...
