Tinnitus Likely from Gentamicin — My Intro Post

A good starting point is understanding that God doesn't give or take away tinnitus, that's an absurd thing to think in the 21st century.

Do You Think That My (Noise Induced) Tinnitus Will Go Away?

Agree with Bill. I wouldn't expect it to go away fully, that seems very rare indeed. Be thankful that you can only hear it in a deadly silent room while looking for it, that's what most people want to get to. Once the habituation sets in you will stop noticing it altogether and it will stop...

Think I'm Having a Tinnitus "Spike" After Drinking Too Much and Going to Very Loud Bars

I haven't stopped going out in the 10 years since I first got Tinnitus. Mine always returns to baseline even after particularly loud nights. I can always tell when ive gone too far because my ear ends up feeling full for a few days with increase in tinnitus, always seems to go back down within...

Single Gunshot... And Now I'm Here

Sounds like you have gone through the normal healing process. If your ears are still hurting/sensitive then they aren't fully healed so don't worry too much yet. Give it 6 months and avoid any further traumas and most likely you will only hear it in a quiet room when really listening for it...

Tinnitus for 36 Hours So Far After a Loud Concert — Will It Go Away?

In my experience it can take up to a week for ringing to fade. I have a baseline tinnitus which always goes up if I have been out to a loud venue, it always goes back down though, i'm sure you will be fine.

Got Tinnitus 6 Weeks Ago — 43 Year Old Male from OZ

It depends which way you look at it. You can prepare someone for the worst obviously but he was looking for some encouragement and advice which I think I gave. I do feel like most of the advice that will be given by members isn't realistic to what most people experience. The idea of wearing...

Got Tinnitus 6 Weeks Ago — 43 Year Old Male from OZ

Advice: Tinnitus caused by Acoustic trauma should reduce down over time so don't worry too much about it. Hearing tests administered by ENT are often useless unless you have noticeable hearing loss, they will tell you generic positive things just to keep you happy and get you out of there. The...

    Tinnitus Along with Floaters

Eye floaters do not reduce or go away that's for sure. I believe my onset of tinnitus also coincided with noticing floaters soon after also. Who knows why this is, increased hyper awareness I would imagine.

My 3 Month Introduction to Hell

No doubt that it will continue to fade, it may go away or it may stay like that. I've had low level tinnitus for 8-10 years now, its never gotten worse even after going to concerts and loud clubs regularly since, its just a baseline noise which I can only hear when my head is against the pillow...

My 3 Month Introduction to Hell

How loud is the ringing at the moment out of 10? Can you only hear it in a silent room?

Tinnitus from Unnecessary Noise Exposure at Work

10 Days is definitely too short to come to any conclusions. You would think that 60 seconds exposure to 100db levels wouldn't cause long term damage but it can sometimes be the straw that broke the camels back. I would say if you are still experiencing a fullness in the ear that is a good sign...

Should I Upgrade My Seat on Upcoming Flight to Closer to the Front of the Plane?

I would be more worried about the noise in Vegas than on the plane personally.

What Should I Do About My Family? They Don't Understand What I'm Going Through

I think sooner or later there will be a cure for every problem we currently face, unfortunately it will be in modifying our genetics so the problem isn't able to occur in the first place rather than treating something that is already there.

New to Tinnitus, Hearing Test Fine

I would say it's quite likely. That's a part of habituation, knowing and accepting it's there and not "looking" for it. It's much the same with eye floaters, a lot of people have them but if you stop looking for them they become less bothersome and you can forget altogether that they are there...
