Transcranial Stimulation Treatments (rTMS & tDCS & tACS)

Sorry I don't check here often anymore. I had an MRI. They gave me foam earplugs and ear defenders. It was still pretty loud but lasted only 10 minutes. I was worried it would affect my tinnitus but didn't seem to, I can generally tolerate loud noises for a short while as long as I have decent...

Transcranial Stimulation Treatments (rTMS & tDCS & tACS)

Hard to say really, my tinnitus seemed to react while getting brain zapped which could be an interesting sign, it seemed less intrusive for a few days after, however I may have had the placebo and a lucky couple of days so I wouldn't draw any conclusions from my experience.

Transcranial Stimulation Treatments (rTMS & tDCS & tACS)

MaST: MEG and Brain Stimulation in Tinnitus (MaST) I hadn't seen this posted about, apologies if it's already known. There's a clinical trial in Nottingham UK looking into tDCS for tinnitus. I took part and it took about 3 hours. Travel and time were compensated (to a limit), which was nice...

Prof. Thanos Tzounopoulos Receives $2 Million Grant

Not much news unfortunately. Although his lab is hiring a new technician. Anyone with a neuroscience BSc fancy trying to smash tinnitus? Talent Center: Careers at Pitt — Research Technician

Genome-Wide Association Study Suggests That Variation at the RCOR1 Locus Is Associated with Tinnitus

I had this initial thought when I first heard about CRISPR. If tinnitus has an identifiable genetic component, could we just rewrite them? Someone far smarter than me should run a clinical trial.

Otonomy OTO-313 — Treatment of Tinnitus

OTO-313 in Subjects With Unilateral Subjective Tinnitus Looks like it was just posted today. I don't see any obvious sign of EU participation. Still looking at 'early onset unilateral' tinnitus. It has contacts available for those interested.

Otonomy OTO-313 — Treatment of Tinnitus

Otonomy Provides Update on OTIVIDEX® and OTO-313 Programs I found a source that talks about changes for Phase 2. This suggests they're excluding severe hearing loss. Increasing minimum TFI score (targeting worse tinnitus). Increasing time since onset (aiming more toward chronic tinnitus)...

Otonomy OTO-313 — Treatment of Tinnitus

Do you have a source for this information? I'm struggling to find anything concrete.

Otonomy OTO-313 — Treatment of Tinnitus

Does anyone know where they usually publish the information to be involved trials? If it's rolling out in Europe I'd definitely like to take part.

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

Dr. Shore's device theoretically is a more targeted application. Think instead of taking a painkiller this is applying it directly to the place it hurts. Worth waiting on Phase 3 results.

Prof. Thanos Tzounopoulos Receives $2 Million Grant

I don't pretend to know what kinds of regulations there are as to whether drugs are 'new' and require the full pipeline from pre-clinical to Phase 3 but I would assume Prof. Tzounopoulos fallen afoul of something — that means RL-81 needs to be tested thoroughly from the ground up. He doesn't...

Prof. Thanos Tzounopoulos Receives $2 Million Grant

Unfortunately not, since we saw a publication last month I imagine it'll be slow going until some clinical trials are hopefully announced. However if you check Professor Tzounopoulos' publications this year already, he is a busy one...

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

I didnt mean to post this much in a row but I hadn't seen anyone else mention this yet. Did some poking around to see what state her trials are in and saw a name for the device I hadn't come across before. https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT03621735 "Intervention/treatment ... Other...

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

Susan Shore's device targets somatic tinnitus on the muscles that allow the patient to modulate their tinnitus. We obviously haven't seen the finished device, but the trials so far have set the frequency and timing of the sounds/electrical charge with the help of an EEG that tested which...

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

Once again reminding you that Dr. Shore's device has worked on people in this very thread and the data Susan Shore has released so far is promising. Maybe it won't work, but you definitely don't know that.

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

I'm all for this kind of hope and if some kind of hearing regenaration becomes available first I would like to try it even with audiologists and ENT's telling me my hearing is near perfect. If that works I'd be over the moon, so I'm certainly not saying we shouldn't try that if it's an option...

Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

I believe it's speculation based on Susan Shore's device using the same bimodal stimulation strategy however that was tested placing electrodes where the patient in question could modulate their tinnitus. Commonly it seems, clenching jaw is often a way for people to modulate their tinnitus...

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

Considering the massive variety of ways people seem to begin experiencing tinnitus this seems pretty reductionist. Reminding everyone once again that someone in this thread was in the previous trial and had their tinnitus essentially eliminated it feels unfair to write off the whole area of...

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

Working at a University myself, it's very true they push for papers to be submitted to journals and strong research backgrounds with enterprise income being a nice secondary outcome. I have no idea who calls the shots in the case of UMICH but it's a shame they don't run parallel trials across...

Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

I'm going to chance it and try the per appointment payment option. It's expensive given the mediocre reception on here but thankfully I'm in a position to not have it set me back too much to try. Anyone who has fine hearing and visual snow found much in the way of improvement so far? I'm really...

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

The inclusion criteria look reasonable to me, they've been upfront about targeting somatic tinnitus and the rest mainly rules out various other causes. The only shame is the less than one year onset but it is only a preference, remember this has worked for people in the forum so I certainly...
