So you want every member to keep a diary documenting their struggles, and you, the self-appointed gatekeeper, will determine their legitimacy? To be honest, your replies are so disappointing and misguided that I cannot feel anything other than contempt for you.

My Tinnitus Has Become Increasingly Shrill, Vile, Angry, and Unbearable After Attending Outdoor Concert

I'm sorry to hear this, mate. Mine was like that too (I even had the Morse code sounds), but it did get better over a period of 18 months. I know it's really hard right now, and every day feels like a struggle, but remember that now isn't forever, and there is every possibility of things...

    Back to Silence

Spot on. You allow it to be there; the goal is to create a way not to respond emotionally to it. For me, it was, and can still be, "I hear my tinnitus, but I'm doing [insert what you want to do]." I acknowledge it and move on without judgment, and over time, the periods of doing this grow longer.

This is the problem with forums. @2049v may read your post, and it won't help him mentally at all. I know it didn't me and took me down a very dark hole. Your reality may not be his. All I'm trying to say is that tinnitus can improve, especially during the early stages, and that you should give...

You'll get to a better place with this. I think anyone who experiences severe tinnitus has these thoughts to a degree, especially "How am I going to live like this." I'd give it at least 12 months before I'd do something rash. It took me 18 months for my brain to get bored of the sound, and the...

Full Circuit: Finding Hope and Coping with Tinnitus — My Journey and Advice

This is a really well-written success story. I'm glad you're in a better place with it. Just a question: After reading this, it seems like you still "have" tinnitus but don't "suffer" from it. For me personally, reactive tinnitus had me housebound and pretty much incapacitated, whereas now my...

Beat COVID-19, Until Tinnitus Had Other Plans

Hi, I’ve had really awful reactive tinnitus that spiked and fluctuated after both of my bouts with tinnitus, following 17 years of mild tinnitus. The first spike, after my initial infection, took 18 months to calm down. The second spike, after the second infection, took a few weeks. I...
