New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

Dr. Shore is taking all precautions for the device to be safe and effective. I have a good feeling about her work. While I have a bad feeling about Lenire and their PowerPoint propaganda.

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

Yeah I fully agree, I supose neuromodulation is a totally new field and serious researchers want to make sure their outcomes are both safe and effective. I'd rather wait than put my hopes/health on a half cooked solution equivalent to tossing a coin (who said Lenire?).

Frequency Therapeutics — Hearing Loss Regeneration

Here is a reference to frequencies - age, we should get not obsessed with UHF at certain ages, I am 46 and 13 kHz is not easy, but I can hear it, and it turns out it is perfectly normal.

I live in Munich too, and also would likely volunteer for the trial!

    Alcohol Quiets Down My Tinnitus

In my case red wine helps a lot, I take it only during dinner, and calms me down on the very bad days, I do not know if really makes it quieter or I just become more relaxed and unaware of it. But definitely helps and I always have a bottle of spanish "tinto" in my kitchen ready to help.

Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

So as we can see, the resources committed to the research are a part time PhD student. It does not look really promising.

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

I have made my mind: this is a life long battle, and have little hope for a solution that comes from anywhere in the coming years. I will have to fight it alone. I am not pessimistic, just optimistic with common sense.

Tinnitus So Loud After Naps — Why?

Same here. Any nap, from short to long, will take me to a horrible spike. It is incredible how tinnitus has changed my life, dramatically reducing my quality of life.

Tinnitus for Many Years, Recently Got Worse: I Don't Know How to Go On

Sorry to read about your situation, this thing is a real fucker. Mine is pretty bad and some days horribly loud but after some months of trying to cope with it, I have learnt to sleep again, not really like 8 hours in a row, which could not even do before T, but at least 6 / 7. I am not taking...

Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

It looks to me like Neuromod is doing kind of a Phase 2 and 3 for the FDA approval, but selling the stuff. Or maybe funding the R&D of the device with patients, and if they improve it is a "success story", otherwise, it was not the "right patient type". All of it said with enough caution as all...

Those slides bring so much hope to me... even if tinnitus is just marginally mentioned.

    Andy Timmons

Gilbert or Timmons? Guess they are too devoted to their thing and as long as they can do it, don´t care too much of unreleased treatments.

Frequency Therapeutics — Hearing Loss Regeneration

And is there any drug in the pipeline for that?

    Andy Timmons

What a great player, and he had a great tone, wonder how could be doing it coping with hearing loss. I just saw an interview of Paul Gilbert, another guitar hero, and his current experience with hearing aids: Kind of a commercial but well, he also endorses a lot of other gear!

Frequency Therapeutics — Hearing Loss Regeneration

I also bumped into this article: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3660910/ "The results suggest that the presence of subjective tinnitus may not be strongly associated to outer hair cell impairment, at least where hearing impairment is evident" Damn, if the study is right, it...

Frequency Therapeutics — Hearing Loss Regeneration

I guess there is still a lot of aspects to improve beyond the mere drug effectiveness, like dosages, frequency, continuous treatment... Hope after the second trial they will improve much more all of them. By purely reading the statistical and clinical percentages I cannot feel excited but the...

Frequency Therapeutics — Hearing Loss Regeneration

In any case the pure tone improvements from phase 1 don´t seem very promising, let´s see about the phase 2.

Frequency Therapeutics — Hearing Loss Regeneration

Maybe everybody knows already, just found this interesting info about the actual FDA "Fast Track" duration: http://www.pharmexec.com/how-fast-are-fda-fast-lanes So it could be around 200 days, if the progression continues like in the article. What I don´t know is from when.

Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

I live in Germany too, currently I am visiting other doctors just to confirm it is not due to / aggravated by other condition (have some pain in neck and jaw currently) but my moderate hearing loss in 4 kHz and 8 kHz makes me think it is just due to that. I also can increase the volume of the...

Maybe with protection you can do it anyway?

Tinnitus Due to Loud Music — Headphones, Band Rehearsals, Concerts

Yeah, that FX-322 product seems promising, but let´s see what happens in Phase 2 tests and FDA approval. Also I live in Europe, I believe the drug wouldn't be automatically approved here so I´d have to wait even more time :(

Tinnitus Due to Loud Music — Headphones, Band Rehearsals, Concerts

Unfortunately, same old story. I was diagnosed with some hearing loss around 2015, being by then 41, high frequencies, I have no problem on hearing conversations, music and so on, not life intrusive. My tinnitus then most likely comes from all those years of excessive volume on headphones while...
