A huge thanks to @Steph1710 , @Tanni , and @twa for sending me with some very kind messages when I went on hiatus.

I saw some really kind words and it really touched me. Thank you, everyone. I posted an update in my intro thread if you want details.
I wanted to say to everyone that I really appreciate all the support you have all given me, even when I took a break from the forum.
Hey guys, I'm back for a minute to say hello. I've been doing a lot better so I probably won't stick around too long...
Holy cow, everybody. I'm back for an update. First and foremost, my tinnitus has not vanished. Go figure, I haven't had any treatment. I went...
I hope everyone is able to have hope and stay positive. I'll return with positive updates. Peace out.
Taking a break from this forum. Feeling too much negativity at the moment.

The last doctor experience I had a couple of days ago was such a bummer. I didn't even get the doctor I wanted, and when I started talking about...
@Steph1710 where do you swim? I am jealous! Also, what's the protocol for ears and swimming? Are plugs needed?
You're like most people who buy records but can't listen because they don't have a turn table. When the stereo gets fixed, the record will be there.
So glad for you!
I just met the most disappointing doctor... I'm going into private Healthcare.
Oh bother...glad I graduated a few years ago...I wouldn't do too well at a ceremony nowadays, especially a Texas style one!
However, it doesn't piss me off like it did. Truly.
You look like a Disney princess!
8 months in and my tinnitus has not faded into a hiss like many report. It is still a strong, clear tone that reacts to sound. 1.7khz.
Ugh that is so terrible, so sorry to hear that! I was recently walking with my bf and a loud car approached, as I plugged my ears it revved extra...
I don't think my particular case has a cause and effect, but last summer, a couple months before the onset of my tinnitus, I was having chronic...
Yeah, it happens.
Watching ghost busters with my amazing boyfriend. Great evening.
@Shelbylynn I'm young too, only 20, and i cannot believe the things people do to their ears. I see 6 year olds existing with air pods in their...
From what I have seen, the fact it has changed from a ringing to a hiss is a very good sign that it could fade completely, given time.
Lol, this is cute. Reminds me of a show I used to watch about this bunny... Muffy I think? Miffy? Some cute little bunny.
Yay! I hope your tolerance to sound remains and continues to improve, and look at you, supermom, for being so ready to jump into it all. Inspiring!
@Martinf i completely agree. I've literally accidentally looked at the sun before and my eyes are fine, not that I recommend it, but compared to...
Well, I'm not too sure. I often go by Jessie, and one day (before tinnitus, I believe? Although what is time anymore...) I was trying to think of...
Imagine if hearing protection was as normalized as sun glasses. LOL
Our remarkable resilience to calamity.
Note to self: tuesdays are not the day to stay home. Maintenance is here. Very very loud. Oh bother.
Unlike your sellotape tragus comment, this has me laughing out loud.
A variation of my name, Jessica.
It wasn't intense running or anything, just some Frisbee with my boyfriend in the park. Head didn't hurt weirdly, just clicked.
Anyone else?
Yesterday I ran for the first time since straining my ankle last October and my head clicks! It's bizarre, many clicks with every step!
Thank you for your sincere and helpful response, I really appreciate your thoughts. Oddly, I do not get the same effect from ear plugs or head...
...I think it's different. My tinnitus ear is much worse on a pillow, and when I first plug my ear it is louder. The thing is, when I start...
My case isn't like yours, my tinnitus is at about 1.7 kHz, so not as high pitched. All I can say is I'm also in a tough spot and looking for...
Thanks.
I'm having a tough go of it this morning. It just feels loud right now and I'm remembering when I first got it--it definitely seems louder now...
Honestly, I don't think my T volume has gone down. When I first got it I only heard it at night. It was much fainter than now I think.
Just saw this on a thread and it caught my eye: "if there is life, there is hope." I like that.
@twa interesting...are the different sounds in different ears, or the same?

I just had a thought....tinnitus friendly concerts...100% acoustic, gentle music, everyone there has been trained on safe dB, its outdoors, etc....
I think my T may be slightly reactive as it seems to become very stable and modulates less if I am laying still in silence
I wish it weren't a pure tone.
Maybe I should just go into audiology, since this is all I seem to think about nowadays anyway.
When my T mixes with background noise especially outside, it sounds like a whistling wind.
Last time I was at the dentist and I told him my teeth were not lining up correctly, he offered to grind them down.
Stay hopeful. I am hopeful that because my tinnitus is so bizarre, there must be a treatment. Think about medical advancements. Think about the...
