Pyridostigmine for Dysautonomia Also Helped My Pulsatile & Regular Tinnitus

Hey Jason, no I did not experience any withdrawal effects outside of reverting back to the way I felt before starting the Pyridostigmine and yes, I did stop cold turkey. Keep in mind that the drug has a very short half life and is purged by the body fairly quickly. My dosage was 30 mg x3. I...

Pyridostigmine for Dysautonomia Also Helped My Pulsatile & Regular Tinnitus

Dose was 30 mg three times a day. As to lowering the dosage i doubt it would have helped. Keep in mind that the drug does work on parasympathetic side of the ANS so yes it did affect my breathing. I don't want to scare you off of looking at trialing the drug as the half life is really short so...

Pyridostigmine for Dysautonomia Also Helped My Pulsatile & Regular Tinnitus

Hi Jason, Well, I ended having to discontinue the Pyridostigmine. For whatever reason my blood pressure spiked pretty bad. Guess that is the ins and outs of Dysautonomia (not the first med I ended up not tolerating). But while I was taking it, it did noticeably tone things down. I am going to...

Pyridostigmine for Dysautonomia Also Helped My Pulsatile & Regular Tinnitus

Hi Jason, So the Pyridostigmine does work on the parasympathetic nervous system. it will put you into a rest and digest mode for sure. This also acts on the portion of the sympathetic nervous system that controls your vascular tone "intent is to increase vascular resistance when standing up" so...

    Very Fleeting Pulsatile Tinnitus

Found this explanation out on the net. Makes sense for me. Your internal carotid artery (the main artery that supplies your brain) passes through your skull within millimeters of your inner ear. When your heart is trying to "catch up" and pump harder and faster to get blood up to your brain...

    How Loud Is Your Tinnitus?

Mine ticks up when I do bad stuff. It is in the zone when I eat and drink right. Getting a good night's sleep is critical, which will always tone it down.

While tinnitus can be caused by many things, I bet this is vascular related. Just saying.

    Can Mild Tinnitus Remain Mild?

My answer is yes, it can remain mild. I do question if blood pressure, neck issues or other issues come into play but I do get a down turn in the dog whistle in my ear at times.

Pyridostigmine for Dysautonomia Also Helped My Pulsatile & Regular Tinnitus

Hi, I have been struggling with pulsatile tinnitus but also have tinnitus in my left ear as well and it can be quite intense at times. I am being treated for the dysautonomia. I was put on Pyridostigmine, and now the pulsatile whooshing over the last few weeks has gone away so I am hopeful. I...

What Exactly Does Your "Pulsatile Tinnitus" Sound Like...?

Mine always starts with feeling pressure in my head and then progresses into the whooshing sound that is in sync with my heartbeat. I also feel some pulsation throughout my body as well, usually the feet and arms. The whoosh for me sounds like when you are having an ultrasound and they record...

Superior Semicircular Canal Dehiscence (SSCD) Diagnosis

I feel your pain and hope you get some good news with this. My luck seems to be similar; get a test done and find a new issue. I too had an issue with my carotid artery, some plaque had ruptured and was blocking it off and was rushed into surgery. Just stay positive, nowadays the surgeons can do...

Pulsatile Tinnitus due to Orthostatic Hypotension or Vertebrobasilar Insufficiency?

Update: I have been working with the specialist at the University for my orthostatic hypotension. Over the last few months we have made a number of med changes that did seem to have an affect on my pulsatile tinnitus but, 3 weeks ago they added 30 mg x3 of Pyridostigmine to the regiment. At...

Fiancée Is Desperate: Tinnitus Caused — and Made Worse — by Propranolol, Looking for Guidance!

Totally agree with this. The more I stay busy, the less I notice the tinnitus and even at times don't notice it at all. I do use the masking to help out as well. TV is on 24x7 and when not in the house, I always have the radio on, it does help greatly.
