Wear earplugs around loud noise. If you don't have any pain and your tinnitus is mild, you will be fine.

It could be early signs of pain hyperacusis or irritation from earplugs; if you are getting any pain, then there is no such thing as over-protection. If it's just hyperacusis, I would carefully start to reintroduce sound when you feel ready. Good luck.

My tinnitus was getting slightly better, but 13 months after its onset, I got hyperacusis, and now I have noxacusis. I'm incredibly jealous of those who don't have hyperacusis/noxacusis.

Be careful of the advice. I took advice from the person here, and I'm a lot worse (so are many others!). I now have noxacusis. Protect your ears until you feel ready, then slowly reintroduce sound. Be careful. And medications are a gamble. Good luck.

Yeah, a tinnitus reduction would be amazing. But I get pain from digital audio, so I don't think I'll be able to use the device.

8 months ago I would have been extremely excited for the device. Now, after hyperacusis and noxacusis kicking in, I'm afraid I won't be able to use the device.

Yeah, I got severe tinnitus just before my son turned one. Then, just after my son turned two, I got hyperacusis. I now have noxacusis, and it's really tough to deal with while having an excitable two-year-old. Protect your ears.

Thank you @Hazel. I also suffered from misophonia way before I developed tinnitus/hyperacusis/noxacusis. I also don't quite see how it's the same as sensitivity.
