MemberFDA has approved a drug, Addyi, that is meant to increase libido in women. It doesn`t work instantly like Viagra, it takes weeks or months for the effect to arise. But it has some nasty side effects and was rejected twice before this last approval! Side effects are low blood pressure and fainting... It is dangerous when combined with alcohol.
FDA has approved this pill because there is no other possible treatment for this group of people suffering from this condition... (sound familiar?).
I mean, if THIS is reason to approve a dangerous pill to be marketed, we will have at least something behind our back if a tinnitus related medicine will ever be rejected for side effects.
On the other hand, it might be that anything that comes close to a treatment for tinnitus will be approved, just because there is nothing else available.
