Don't miss the opportunity to attend Tinnitus Quest's online Q&A with Dr. Susan Shore and Jon Pearson, CEO of Auricle on October 13. We will hear the latest about the Susan Shore Device.
I have no idea, but, in my case, pulsatile tinnitus was the 1st "kind" of tinnitus that I got, having started within the first year of my hyperacusis symptoms.
I doubt it; but only because my H and my T can be separated fairly readily. Clearly, hyperacusis aggravates my tinnitus: it basically stops my ears and shuts out all masking clutter-noise, as well as creating painful sensitivity to sound. But I can't say it causes it, since I had tinnitus well before I developed hyperacusis..
Usually people have tinnitus before hyperacusis, but then, with hyperacusia, tinnitus worsens. Hyperacusis has to be treated for tinnitus to improve. It's, usually, related to noise injury.
