I've been wearing ill-fitting glasses for about a year. I don't have health insurance (so no eye care), so my prescription is a little old (which isn't a big deal, still can see through the glasses) but the glasses themselves I have been wearing for 3+ years.
Over the last year, I've felt my glasses getting tighter and tighter, squeezing the areas right behind both ears (but mainly my left year, which is where my tinnitus is primarily located) very tight, causing pain.
And over the past four months I've noticed this horrible itching in my inner ear drum. If you look at my post history, I thought it was just ear wax. I got that cleared out, but the itching is still there. Whenever I do take my glasses off, the itching stops. I know after an ear wax spike it can take 4-6 months for the spike to settle down to my base levels of tinnitus, but I'm questioning whether this is worsening the baseline / spike.
If the glasses are pinching my left ear tight enough to make, what I'm assuming the nerve, to cause the itching and cause pain all around the ear. Could it also be affecting my tinnitus? I'm also wondering if that's why my tinnitus is worse when I work / drive, because my glasses are constantly on?
I believe my tinnitus is from way too many live concerts / loud music. And that weird ear wax build up caused the spike.
I found an eye center that will fix my glasses for free so they can fit better. Should be getting refitted tomorrow.
