Had Pulsatile Tinnitus for Less Than a Minute, Then It Went Back to Noise Tinnitus

I've been experiencing tinnitus (sounds like a tv static in left ear/head) for a month and 2 weeks and is a constant noise... sometimes very mild and other days loud.

But the other day i went to buy some stuff at a store near by and for a minute the noise changed to PT, I could "hear/feel" my heart beat in my ear (horrible sound)

I even felt that it was worse than the static, then it went back my normal static "sound" tinnitus.


Has this happened to you?
Any idea why this happened?

Seems your blood pressure has gone up while you were outside buying some stuff.
In my opinion this is objective T. You hear the sound of your blood stream in your left ear.
When your blood pressure goes up the sound becomes pulse synchronous to your heart beat (pulsatile T).

Can you regulate/shut down your T by pressing a finger on your left carotid artery?
(Press on it as closely as possible to your chin)

I tried this, but it didnt seem to work!

Ok but it's definitely objective T if the sound represents the heartbeat. T caused by damaged hair cells cannot represent the heartbeat. Means there is a source for it other than damaged hair cells. A sound equal to a static TV is also not atypical for a running bloodstream in your ear.

but the heartbeat noise only lasted for a few seconds.

Yes you can consider it objective. In my opinion it's a smaller artery which causes your T. These smaller arteries do not represent a sound equal to your heartbeat all the time like a dural AV fistula does. But these smaller arteries are near the carotid artery so they can temporarily sound like your heartbeat for example because of a sudden rise in blood pressure.

You should do the following now:

1. Get a MR scan of your head with contrast agent (MR angiography)
2. If the don't find the cause get a duplex sonography of your left carotid artery
3. If the don't find the cause get an ultrasound scan and x-ray scan with contrast agent of the area around your left ear
4. If they don't find the cause get a digital subtraction angiography of the arteries in your head with contrast agent. This is the most precise analysis of the arteries in your head (even the smaller ones which are not visible on a MR scan with contrast agent)

so far the ETN told me i had Eustachian Tube Dysfunction
but another one i seen told me it might be Vascular...
dont know what to think, but thanks for the adiviceee

If they find the artery which causes your T they can close it via endovascular embolization.
Nevertheless in some cases where the artery is too small it's not possible, but mostly an artery in the ear area which is damaged and can therefore cause T is big enough to close it via this procedure.

Not sure,
to be honest,
it started in my left ear, sometimes i feel like o could hear in on my right, sometimes my head.
but i dont know if its only my perception.

My guess on pt for some it is inflammation. Mine started out real loud all over my head lasted all day long. Then after 2 months got quieter and quieter and isolated itself in my ear. It has mostly went away now, and replaced with a windy whistle T. Only the whistle t isn't as noticeable if I'm occupied.
