Hi everyone!

Quick question as I'm curious to know.

I suffer from both hearing loss and tinnitus (high pitch) in both ears, which is rubbish but I always tell myself things could be a lot worse.

I'm in my 40's now, had this since birth (I assume) and I'm not holding out any hope of a cure (it's been '5 years away' since my first hearing test when I was a child).

Now for the question! My Dad and brother have this too (though the sound differs) but the females (sisters) in the family don't - why is this?

Also, is there a way of finding out exactly what 'type' I have?

Thanks

I think that God does not know. People know.

Everything is very simple. Read the basics of genetics.

Mutational genes are much more often transmitted to male offspring, while female individuals remain immune to this mutation.

Nature is experimenting on men
