Hey there, my name is James and I have had hearing loss from a young age. I could have been about 4. I had a virus in my ear and the doctor didn't know what it was or what to do but it went away. Over time my hearing has gotten worse to the point of my now profound SNHL. I have normal range for 3 low pitches and the rest in the profound range.

Is there any treatment available I can try? I know about hyperbaric oxygen therapy albeit for sudden SNHL. I have tried red light therapy to no avail, as well as some YouTube videos for hearing repair to no avail.

Thank you so much for any help or direction you may point me.

I also do have tinnitus but it is the least of my worries compared to my hearing loss that is greatly affecting my career and social interactions.

So sorry you're going through this...
  • Acyclovir/ anti virals
  • Intratympanic steroids
  • Nicotinamide riboside
  • Low dose Naltrexone
  • Consider autoimmunity - autoimmune workup
  • Viral panel
When you say viral panel, what viruses in particular?
