It is commonly admitted that tinnitus is associated with hearing loss.

But tinnitus often starts only in one side (firecraker etc...).

After months people locate their tinnitus in the brain.

My question is: why the normal ear did not compensate the hearing loss and prevent the centralization of the tinnitus?

It's strange that researchers haven't committed to this case.

The centralization of single-sinded noise-induced tinnitus holds the key to the mechanism of installation of the tinnitus for the long run.
