      After 10days being on the following dosage;

      60mg prednisone - 5days
      40mg prednisone - 5days
      2x25mg sturgeon per day
      3x16mg betaserc

      150mg mangsium
      15mg zinc
      B12/6
      Ginkgo biloba

      My tinnitus dropped to 2/10 and I can easily ignore it all day long.

      However, for the last three days I couldn't sleep well at all ! I believe I got insomnia and my hands are shaking !

      Are those normal side effects ? It is so nasty though !!! Terrible !

      I am going to a neurologist and ENT espicalist to check if I need to stop them !!!

      Should I get some sleeping pills ? Until I get of those medications ?

      I would get something to sedate me if I were in that condition, but that's just me.

      @Danny Boy ,

      The insomina and the shaking are from the prednisone.

      Anyhow today were the last dosage and hope all those side affects would be reversible soon ! But I'm also hoping my T won't get back to the previous levels !

      Speaking of getting something to sedate me, what do you think of Trypitzole (Amitriptyline HCI) or herbal pills containing high 1000mg of Valerian ?

      Is it true valerian is bad to T ?

      I understand everyone is different but your Advises are helpful !

      Valerian isn't bad for tinnitus but you need to take it for more than 2 weeks to see any benefits. Amitriptyline is great for sleeping but the dry mouth is horrid and it is a benzo so I dunno. Just do what you believe is right for yourself.

      Prednisone is an individual choice and of course doctor's. Just about a year ago My Tinnitus became loud and I was dizzy. My ENT prescribed prednisone, water pill, anti-dizzy pills, and diet change. Basic treatment for meniere's. My dizziness lasted 2 months and my T is still loud but I know from experience I take 12-18 months to habituate. Looking back I am glad the doctor gave me the Meniere's regiment. First order is do no harm. Second survive, @Danny Boy is right use any assists that will help cope. There are lots of medications for depression, anxiety, sleep aids. There are medication that alter the perception of your Tinnitus.
      God bless.

      Got Tinnitus This April 24 started the Prednisone only a few days later. I think I was on it for 14 days. Take 6 the first two days then 5 the next etc...... Didn't do anything for me. Got mine from going to loud concert. The prednisone REALLY messed me up. couldn't sleep. Was ready to jump out the window. The worst I ever felt in my life. I guess it was a combination of the Prednosone and the reality of getting the Tinnitus together. I think I would have been able to cope with the Tinnitus better if I wasn't on it

      I took Prednisolone to maybe help clear up my blocked E tubes.

      I didnt really help much for that but it did lower my T in volume!

      Any ideas how to dose and for how long take those steroids to be effective in acoustic trauma? I wonder since there so many different doses its amazing. Some start one day high and taper for week, some do week high and thats it, others do 2 weeks medium dose with or without taper.

      I wonder how mich you need to be on them to be effective. What if hearing spthreshold shift after acoustic truma is minor like 10-15db. How long would you take them too. Anyone found some research data?

      Docs in my country are super paranoid and give people only 4-5days on 60mg and then immediate stop. I rarely hear of some e that was on prednisone for more than week.

      I was prescribed a 4mg dose pak of Medrol. I read thats equal to 5mg of Prednazone. many here are taking 30/40/60 mg. Did my ENT make a mistake? Is 5mg even enough to have an effect on T? Its been 8 days since new Trauma.

      It wont give you any effect. Whole point of taking prednisonee is to completely and 100% supress your immune yatem. Its very risky thats probably why doc didnt give you higher dosage. Like i said. Its too low.

      Hi, I'm doing better. Still have T. In my head not my ear. Not that bad. Don't hear it too much during the day unless somewhere where it's quiet. At night I use a masking sound to help sleep. Thanks

      Just got a prescription for prednisone(50mg) for a weeks supply. Any info on tapering off of it or should I just go the full dose and then stop. This is for an acoustic trauma spike. Also I might try getting some NAC, what is everyones opinion on that?

      Looks like your T was caused by recent trauma. Take the meds as your doctor prescribed.

      It's been one and a half months since my acoustic trauma induced tinnitus began. I've had one injection of 10mg. dexamethasone and am due for another tomorrow one week after the last injection. The first injection seemed to lower the volume slightly. Has anyone had this specific experience? Do you think a second and third injection could be helpful? Thanks.

      Hey guys, it has been 2 months since I got my T / noise induced hearing loss, and I over the past week I was given steroid treatment of Dexamethasone as well as a prescription of Presidone. It has been one week since my first injection, and but unfortunately my T has become worse.

      When I started the injections I had one high pitched tone which was about a 4/10 for the majority of the time. Throughout the week I have generated multiple new tones, one of which is more like a hum from an airplane. The high pitched tone has increased in loudness, to about a 6/10, and I have had moments of other tones creeping in and out.

      I had my second injection three days ago, and I am hoping that things will settle back to the pre-injection level in the near future.

      Hi there. Talking about pills, I was on dexametazone in the veins. It sometimes worsened things, but there was also Tercef antibiotic which seems helped to fix the things...
      There is one pill with lots of side effects, which helps for the last 3 days to keep my T at level under -40dB. It's called Gabagamma. However It doesn't cure the actual reason for my noise (inner ear nerves irritation of "unknown" cause, I have linear audiograms (no loss of hearing) ).

      @SoulStation,

      Dexametazone is a corticosteroid. It's similar to Prednisone. It was what they used, when I had an intratympanic injection.
