Hello all,

Two days ago I was feeling pretty low. A friend of mine I used to make music with before tinnitus asked me to hang out. Always when we would be in the studio we would drink some beers & smoke cigarettes. So I decided to just chill and do that again.

I smoked like 10 cigarettes in about 2 hours and drunk maybe 5 beers. I felt so euphoric and nostalgic. I thought, I can live with this! My tinnitus wasn't bad at all at that moment. I didn't even listen to music.

When I went to bed I noticed my tinnitus was a little louder. But when I woke up it was at its worst. Even worse then the moment i got it, and in both ears now. Is this permanent? I have tinnitus for 2 weeks now. I first thought I could recover within 3 months if I will live healthy and take good care of my ears but My mental state wont let me.

If I had a change of getting rid of my tinnitus, did I blew it now with the heavy smoking? If I stop now completely, start taking all the supplements, sleep good, get rid of my stressors, and let my ears rest. Is there still a chance of me recovering completely from this torture? I have the feeling that because I'm 14 days after onset and still smoked a bit.

I blew my chances of recovery because in the first weeks you can recover the most, is this a rational thought?

Also, I was calling with someone for a long time with my phone on my good ear before I got tinnitus there too, it was on the softest volume but I have the feeling that because it's a electronic device its bad for your tinnitus is this possible?

Thank you all good people of TinnitusTalk, hard times for me. I hope you and I will be cured and find a way to live it to the fullest even a better life than before tinnitus! That's where I'm aiming for, that this happens to us has to have a reason and shouldn't be a bad one! Lots of love!
