MemberThis is a long shot, but I wonder if someone else experiences what I am experience with my hearing, (or has an explanation.)
My right ear has moderate to severe hearing loss. (NIHL). Left ear has got small hearing loss.
Lately I noticed certain frequencies (1-4 kHz) can be a lot louder in my right ear.
When I watch a particular tv SCI-FI show there is this scene with beeping sounds. These beeps are approximately 3 kHz tones. These tones are much louder in my right ear. The same with some bird sounds outside. Some bird songs are much louder in my right ear. Same frequency range (< 4Khz).
So the experience is as if these TV sounds originate from the right speaker (which they don't) and some birds are on the right side of me (which they are not).
My audiogram does not allow for these effects. This should not happen! If anything it should be the other way around. Left should be much more sensitive for these tones.
I wonder if it is a mixing with my tinnitus that gives this effect.
Eventually I will check this effect with a tone generator.
Emotionally I am not yet ready for this
